The math ACT is sucking a lot of ass. And I do mean a LOT of ass. We're talking, like, a shitload of ass.
Matrices. Seriously, guys? Just pick the most useless THING in the entire Algebra curriculum that the teachers fully admit that we will never use once throughout our lives, and pound it like a $20 whore. On an aptitude test. Aptitude for what, putting up with pointless busywork that takes way too fucking long to figure out?
Yes, as you can probably tell, tests piss me the hell off. Maybe because that is the only thing our school gives a damn about. If we all died, they'd just b'awww about what's going to happen to their test scores and if they're going to lose their jobs because of them.
That tirade aside, I really wish I had a friend who has read the Cirque du Freak series all the way through. And is willing to RP it, since Brian is too lazy. Because I have an OC that doesn't suck for that fandom (Grusha Chek, formerly Agrafena Chekushkina) and am getting back into the series. Actually, I'm probably going to re-read all twelve books for the fun. They're pretty quick reads, so they wouldn't take up much time.
*elbows loyal2cupcakes whilst clearing throat* Not that I'm suggesting specifically that YOU should read them or anything, Dyl. Because I NEVER hint at stuff that I want people to without telling them directly. You know that. Hehehe...
But the Harry Potter RP is back in motion, so that's good. The creativity will at least have on outlet. :D
Read Cirque du Freak, bitches. Just do it.

May. 4th, 2011 @ 12:24 pm Harry Potter RP Character Info
Current Location: IT'S EATING MY FUCKING SOUL
Current Mood: bitchybitchy
Current Music: Ministry of Magic--"Accio Love"

Written specifically for loyal2cupcakes since we're starting up the HP RPness (hehe inside joke) again. So here's the info for my character, Tristan.

Name: Tristan Griselda Detwyler
Nicknames: Tristi or Tris (friends, some family); Detwyler.
Year: Same as the Trio.
Date of Birth: January 29.
Blood: Pure
Hometown: Near Greenwich, England.
Personality: Cynical, laid-back, temperamental, cocky, friendly, easygoing, lazy, a total smart-ass without really intending to be, resourceful, sociable, free-spirited, stubborn, capricious, distrusting, somewhat hypocritical, nosy, horrible judge of character, intelligent, lacks some self esteem, not particularly driven, easygoing, and compassionate.
Appearance: Very curly auburn hair with some honey-colored undertones, prone to greasiness; she usually tames it in a ponytail or messy bun, with the priority of keeping it out of her face. Large light blue eyes. Fair skin, rather pretty face--high forehead, large nose, full lips. Stands about 5'6, a bit overweight and very curvy.
Clothing Style: Pretty low-key, loose-fitting and occasionally sloppy. It looks pretty decent, but it has to be comfortable or she'll go crazy.
Worst Fear: Drowning.
Greatest Strength: Determined and knows how to get out of stuff.
Greatest Weakness: Horrible judge of character; hates taking advice.
Best Class: Either Divination or Muggle Studies.
Worst Class: Arithmancy (her father made her take it) or Transfiguration.
Average Grade: A's and P's (Acceptable; Poor)
Crushes: No one as of yet. This might change.
Best Friends: loyal2cupcakes's character, Luna Lovegood, Nymphadora Tonks, Fred & George Weasley.
Friends: Ginny Weasley, Cho Chang, Harry Potter, Neville Longbottom, Hermione Granger, Dean Thomas, a few others.
Rivals: Pansy Parkinson, Marietta Edgecomb, Padma Patil, Draco Malfoy.
Enemies: She's a member of the Order. Take a wild guess.

Apr. 26th, 2011 @ 10:48 am YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL MAN VOICE
Current Location: SKEWL
Current Mood: chipperchipper
Current Music: Rasputina--"Incident in a Medical Clinic"

Voices play a bigger role in human interaction than most people realize, especially to those such as myself who are extremely sensitive to sound. In fact, I've noticed that if I find someone's voice an earsore to listen to, I'm almost definitely not going to like the person. Call me shallow, but it's how I'm wired. So of course my next top 20 is about just that: voices. Male voices--tenors, baritones, basses, countertenors. The best of 'em are glorious to listen to. So here are my take on the Top 20 Sexiest Voices. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion, so don't shit a brick or anything if you don't agree.

1.      Terrance Zdunich (baritone; Repo! The Genetic Opera

2.      Till Lindemann (bass; Rammstein)

3.      Luciano Pavarotti (tenor; only the most famous opera singer in history)

4.      Ian McNeice (tenor*; Dune)

5.      Christopher Lee (bass*; The Lord of the Rings)

6.      Adam Pascal (tenor; RENT)

7.      Marco Hietala (tenor; Nightwish)

8.      Anthony Stewart Head (tenor; Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

9.      Oliver Platt (tenor; Frost/Nixon

10. Alan Rickman (baritone; Harry Potter)

11. Bryn Terfel (baritone)

12. Michael Cerveris (baritone; Sweeney Todd revival)

13. Michael Crawford (tenor; The Phantom of the Opera

14. Andrea Bocelli (tenor)

15. Matthew MacFadyen (bartione*; Pride & Prejudice)

16. Voltaire (tenor)

17. Alfred Molina (tenor; Spiderman 2

18. Tom Hulce (tenor; Amadeus

19. Brad Jones (baritone*; The Cinema Snob)

20. Sean Nelson (tenor; Harvey Danger)

*=I'm not sure, so this is pretty much guesswork

How important is physical attraction in selecting a romantic partner?

At what's likely a very high risk of sounding superficial, physical attraction has to be there or else there would be little chance that I'd have any romantic interest in the person. I'm not sure if it's so much physical, or if there just has to be a sort of "spark." I've known guys who I thought were hot or whatever, but never thought of romantically or even felt much real attraction to. It might be a chemistry thing, but who knows.

Current Music: The sound of Brian's snarking

...This is what I get for posting an entry when Brian and loyal2cupcakes are around. And I'm reading Hunters of Dune.
Mainly for the return of the Baron and Alia, but I digress.
{Especially the Baron.}
But the book in itself is pretty great. I realize a fair amount of people bash the Brian Herbert sequels/prequels, but personally I'm enjoying them. They're definitely not the same calibur as the master himself, of course, but they're not fucking up the series or whatever like some critics like to claim. Aside from some continuity issues, they're pretty damn awesome.
I may or may not post a more in-depth review when I'm a little farther into the book. Right now, they've gotten to torturing the ghola of Vladimir in attempts to revive his memory. Due to his personal kinkiness, it's very obviously failing. >_>
And for some reason I've taken the stupid notion to write down my top 20 fictional characters in order. Don't ask why. Here it is.

1. Elphaba Thropp [Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire]
2. Baron Vladimir Harkonnen [Well, duh...]
3. Cadel Greeniaus [The Genius Trilogy by Catherine Jinks]
4. Dmitri Karamazov [The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky]
5. Nathan Wallace [Repo! The Genetic Opera]
6. Pavel Smerdyakov [also The Brothers Karamazov]
7. CyberSix/Adrian Seidelman [CyberSix]
8. Pattyn von Stratten [Burned by Ellen Hopkins]
9. Severus Snape [Harry Potter]
10. Dr. Kosaku Tokita [Paprika]
11. Rebakah "Beka" Cooper [The Provost's Dogs Trilogy by Tamora Pierce]
12. Reggie Lass [Dead Like Me]
13. Mimi Marquez [RENT]
14. Prof. Abraham Van Helsing [Dracula by Bram Stoker]
15. Bialar Crais [Farscape]
16. Eddie Valiant [Who Framed Roger Rabbit]
17. Ellen [The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett]
18. Evan Taylor/August Rush [August Rush]
19. Alfred F. Jones/America [Hetalia: Axis Powers]
20. Alia Atreides [Moar Dune]
